If you’re child wants to try piano, but you don’t want to purchase a full size piano, keyboards offer a perfect alternative. You can find older models on Craigslist, or look through your local paper. Guitar Center usually has good deals as well. I personally use Casio Privias for all my music lessons and live performances, and have for years.
Here is the sustain pedal I use. It feels just like a real pedal on a full piano.
