Why Lessons?

Here Are Some Benefits To Your Child That Music Lessons Provide:

1. Studies have proven that children’s GRADES GO UP when they participate in music lessons.

2. Research has show that sight reading & playing music ACTIVATES all 4 of the BRAIN’S CORTEX’S LOBES. Studies also show that kids also improve in SPATIAL-TEMPORAL scores, which help in MATH & SCIENCE. I have definitely witnessed this myself – especially in areas of Math / Numbers / Sequences.

3. Music BUILDS CONFIDENCE. If your child is shy, taking private music lessons might be a perfect way to build self esteem, as they build a new skill they can truely be proud of. This is a skill they can use the rest of their lives as well!

4. Studying Music encourages children to develop INITIATIVE, good SELF-STUDY habits, SELF-DISCIPLINE and PERSERVERENCE. This will carry over to school/work habits in the future.

5. Studies have shown that children involved in music also were better at LEARNING LANGUAGES, had ACCELERATED READING capabilities, improved the ways they RELATED TO OTHER CLASSMATES, and found playing music as A WAY TO “RELIEVE STRESS”, an outlet/tool that non-musically involved students did not have at their disposal.

These are just a FEW benefits of taking music lessons…..My personal favorite is the absolute sheer enjoyment a child/teen has WHEN THEY WRITE THEIR FIRST SONG! And if someone is taking lessons from me, I can assure you, they will eventually be writing their own music. It’s what I personally do best – and I can inspire and teach this skill to others. Especially children/teens. It’s all about developing & improving basic instrument skills and music theory first, then tapping into your inner creativity and letting it flow. The confidence this process can instill in a child/teen is amazing. And it’s just SO FUN!
